What is a Maintenance Patrol Yard?

​​A Maintenance Patrol Yard (MPY) is a facility that houses the staff, equipment, and materials used to maintain highways. MPYs are an essential part of MTO’s service operations, including winter maintenance of provincial highways. A typical MPY provides material storage (e.g., salt and sand), office facilities (washrooms, space for administrative work, etc.), and a place to maintain and store equipment used for highway maintenance.
